Q. I don't have a PayPal account -- can I still sign up online?
A. Yes! Even though the transaction is hosted on PayPal's secure site, you don't have to join PayPal to submit your subscription. PayPal will give you the option to join, but it's not required.
Q. I want to give a Penpal subscription as a gift -- but I don't know which horse to choose. Can I sign up now and let my gift recipient choose the horse?
A. We figured out a way to do this easily: just go to our
Gift Subscriptions page, fill in the penpal information, and complete
the online payment via PayPal.
If you don't want to pay online, you can download our printable enrollment
form, complete the gift subscription info, and mail it to us with your
check.
Either way, we'll contact your gift recipient and sign them up with
their favorite Penpal. Simple, huh?
Q. When will I receive my penpal letters?
A. Your first letter will be sent out as soon as we receive your subscription order -- which means that Bonus and Basic Penpals should receive their letter in the mail within 5-7 working days. Your second thru twelfth letters will be mailed on the first Monday of every month. So, depending upon the efficiency of the USPS, you should look for those letters to reach you by the following Monday.
Email Penpals will receive their first email letter within a day or two after we receive your order. Thereafter, you should look for your letters on the first Monday of every month.
Q. Can I write back to my Penpal?
A. Yes, you can -- our horses love to get mail! Make sure you send it to the correct address, however, since our mailing address is not the same as the barn's street address. Send your letters to: Dream Horse Penpals, 56 Cindy Lane, Ellijay, GA 30540.
Q. Can I come see my Penpal at HorseSense?
A. Sure! Just call or email us ahead of time to let us know that you're coming so we can schedule a time for you spend with your Penpal. If you'd like to have a riding or grooming lesson with your Penpal, let us know -- our usual lesson fees will apply unless you are a Bonus Penpal, which entitles you to a $5 discount.
Q. How can I track the end of my subscription period?
A. The date of your last letter is printed on your address label. We'll also send you a reminder with your final letter.
Q. How can I renew my subscription?
A. Simply sign up again online, or return the reminder message that comes with your last letter.
Q. Can I change Penpals?
A. Yes, just let us know which Penpal you'd rather have. If your Penpal is unable to continue in the program for some reason, we will offer you another Penpal at no charge.
