skills.
We also open all of our shows and competitions to outside
riders -- you don't have to be a student here at HorseSense to join in
the fun!
And visitors are always welcome to come watch and cheer

New this year: an unmounted horsekeeping competition to show how much our students (and their families and friends) know about taking care of horses. This is a great way for students to learn more about horsekeeping! Competitors are grouped in teams by Learning Levels, and work together to identify equine items, complete puzzles and challenge activities, and answer quiz-bowl questions. Open to our students, their parents, and outside competitors -- lots of fun for students of all ages. Ribbons and prizes awarded. Entry fee is only $15.00 -- click here for details.
Open Combined Test and Dressage Schooling Show
Saturday, June 12, 2010 (rescheduled from May 15 due to the waterslide!)

Also new this year: a chance for our budding eventers to practice their show skills. Combined tests are comprised of two of the three phases in eventing (dressage, cross-country, and stadium jumping). Competitors in this show will ride a USEA dressage test and a jumping course; other options include riding just USEA dressage tests, just stadium courses, or mixing up your own combined test. We also offer a Ground Buddy dressage test and ground pole course for Rising Riders. Amoeba thru Training Level classes; ribbons awarded through sixth place, with Champion, Reserve Champion, and participation ribbons. Our cross-country course will also be available for schooling to Tadpole - Beginner Novice riders. Open to our students and outside riders of all ages. Mark your calendar now -- $15-30 per entry. Our 6th annual open schooling show, with a little something for everyone. This unique schooling show is for novice riders/green horses, based on traditional eventing: dressage seat equitation, show jump equitation, and cross-country –- plus Mounted Games classes just for fun! This was so much fun last year -- in spite of the pouring rain -- that we've decided to make it an annual event. Teams of two riders compete in a variety of Halloween-themed relay races. Ribbons and prizes awarded. Open to our students and outside riders of all ages. Only $20 per rider.
