Games competition. Campers will learn basic games skills and competition
rules, including:
bending, dunking and hand-off skills
vaulting and dismounting
fitness for rider and mount
training methods for Games ponies
overview of Games equipment
racing strategy
competition rules
teamwork and sportsmanship
REQUIREMENTS
FOR CAMPERS: Open to riders between the ages of 9 and 109. Clinic
participants must be able to control their mounts safely and competently
at a canter (or gallop!) -- Green Level or
equivalent. No previous Games experience is required, but
riders should be familiar with the basic MGAA rules for Mounted
Games.

REQUIREMENTS
FOR PONIES: Mounts should be under 16 hh tall (12-14 hh is ideal), sound
and fit enough for two hours of strenuous work, and relatively bombproof
or easily desensitized to equipment. Good ground manners are essential.
All participants must ride in English tack.
Camp
begins Friday evening at 6:30 PM with a pizza party for campers and
parents, and runs until 8:30 PM. On Saturday and Sunday, camp runs from 9 AM to 4:30 PM. The
Games competition will start at 3:00 PM on Sunday -- families are
encouraged to attend and cheer on their competitors!
School horses may be available for our current students to ride in
this camp -- ask Nikki for details. We may also have a pony or two
that outside riders may lease for camp -- call for availability.
NOTE: All of our Games camps are very popular, so make sure you get your entry forms in promptly!
